Aaron Brewer

Hello! My name is Aaron Brewer and I am in Photography 2. I was in Photography 1 my Freshman year, didn't take the class last year, but am now resuming photography because I realized how much I missed it. I have been taking pictures my whole life (back to when I was around 5 with a little Vtech kids camera). Recently my liking for photography has grown and I have invested a lot more time in it, as well as purchasing my own DSLR. I am currently trying to become a more experienced photographer with booking portraiture photoshoots and potentially pursuing photography as a career. My favorite genres of photography are sports photography, macro photography, and more recently portrait photography. My biggest challenge in photography is confidence and really need the good pictures here and there to propel me forward.

Here are some notes on a few of my photos below.

Both Blinding and Window were taken on the same day where I saw the cool lighting on the window from outside as well as the cool lines the sun shining through the shutters created and knew I had to take a picture of both. Metal is shot from the inside of a metal decoration in my yard with the camera laying on the ground looking up through the inside of the metal decoration towards the sky. In order to do this I used the remote shooting feature on my phone connected to my camera. Pink Spiral was an idea that happened by accident. I was rolling out my legs after a run with my foam roller and saw the cool spiral that was created when the sun shined through the inside. I took my camera and my roller outside and got this shot shooting through the inside of the roller. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work!

Angelo Alvarado

Hello! My name is Angelo Alvarado, I am Mexican-American born on May 11th, 2005. I am a Photo 1 Student, my first year at Atwater High School for my Freshmen Year. Things I like to do in my free time are Watching The Flash and Riverdale, Listen to Music, Play Baseball and Soccer, Hang out with my friends, Spend time with my family, and Take Pictures. I really like the class assignments, Digital and Film Photography. At the year I didn’t really like the class, but little by little I ended up liking it at the end. My favorite thing about the class was when Mrs. Eckman would always make her jokes, but sometimes nobody would laugh. I like to take pictures of almost anything, but I like to take pictures of my family and friends when they are not looking. I like to take random pictures not even for school assignments just for fun. I am really glad that I got the experience to learn how to improve my photography skills and learn new skills and how to use a DSLR. A quote that inspires me is “Contrast is what makes photography interesting” - Conrad Hall. This quote inspires me because the recent photos I have taken have been in B/W and they have come out really good. When I grow up I want to be a CSI or a Lawyer (don’t know which one yet), But, also I want to be a photographer as a side gig to earn some extra money, and for others to have an opportunity to get their photos taken by me.

Liliana Molina

Hi, my name is Liliana Molina. I am a senior at Atwater High School. I started learning about photography and taking photography class in my junior year. I have always liked to capture the beauty, and liked editing photos and seeing what I could do. This is my second year taking photography and I can honestly say that I have really enjoyed it. I struggled with taking photos at the beginning of the year, and now I look at my old photos and compare them to my new ones and I have improved a lot more. I have really learned a lot since I started taking this class from the elements and principles of design to lighting and contrast. It has become a very fun and good pass time hobby for me. This is a photo I took for one of my projects about line, which is a picture of my hangers in my closet. I really love the way this photo turns out because right when you look at it you really don't see the hangers, and it just gets your attention on angle repetition and the line very clean looking. Thanks for your time, and I really hope you enjoy the work I did on this photograph. :)

Litzy Cervantes

Hey! I'm Litzy. I’m a senior in Atwater High. My interest in photography started my Sophomore year. At the beginning, I struggled for ideas and eventually realized plenty of my pictures that I liked weren't planned. It has become one of my favorite hobbies when I'm not required to take pictures for my photography class. I prefer peachy tones or black and white photography than any other hue. This type of photography looks more elegant and removes distractions of color and helps the viewer focus on other aspects such as the subject, textures, shapes, and patterns.

Natalie Stephenson

I am Natalie Stephenson. I am 15 years old and have been taking pictures for about 3 years now. I first started in 7th grade in my yearbook elective class. We worked on taking pictures and cutting them out digitally using a base similar to photoshop. I don’t really care for taking photos of people but more of animals and plant life along with random objects that suffice to my aesthetics in life, as you can see that I don’t have any humans in my pictures, they are all objects, pets, and plants. My inspiration is when my pets are in a cute pose that I know they most likely won’t be in during the next five minutes so I get my camera out while they are still there and shoot my shot. It usually takes a few tries to get the picture perfect but they usually come out well. I take pictures to secure a moment in time digitally so I can keep that memory for years to come. My challenges are finding good opportunities, with all the sickness around at this time, I can't go out to places as much to take good pictures of different things so I am stuck with the same things in different ways. I do excel at catching my pets in a photo op moment at times and other times they don’t cooperate as much as I would like them to. I hope you enjoy my creativity, thank you.
