Reopening Schools - 2021-2022
Introduction:
Our reopening of schools plan is based on the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) New York State Department of Health (DOH) and the New York State Education Department (SED) and the Nassau County Department of Health. Our plan is designed to mirror our pre-pandemic educational and co-curricular program as closely as possible. As such, this year’s instructional model will include a full return of all students to in-person learning, and fully remote instruction will no longer be an option for students.
The protocols in our reopening plan are consistent with Nassau County Department of Health (NCDOH), State Education Department (SED), and Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations, which include layered mitigation efforts. These efforts are designed to limit disruptions to in-person learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The District will communicate via its website, phone blasts, e-mails, and social media. All communications will be placed on the website which provides translation in the languages spoken at home and has accessibility features for those with visual and hearing impairments and in the languages spoken at home.
The District is Committed to:
Following the health and safety guidance provided by the Nassau County Department of Health and the State Education Department.
Returning all students to full-time and in-person instruction.
Returning as closely as possible to pre-pandemic operations.
