Teacher Technology Leader Program

Mountain View School District has officially reached their 1:1 Student Technology Initiative goal!!

Starting in the Fall of the 2015-16 school year, Mountain View School District embarked on their journey to build their 1:1 Student Technology Initiative. Not only did we need to purchase our devices and build our infrastructure, but we had to develop a training program for our teachers to help increase their capacity for technology integration in their classes. From that, we created our Teacher Technology Leader (TTL) Program.

When accepted into the TTL Program, teachers receive a 1:1 cart of devices to use and keep as part of their commitment to the two-year program. Throughout the program, teachers receive training and support with the expectation that they implement technology-based interventions and teaching in their classroom.

Our District's model is divided into two groups: TTL iPads and TTL Chromebooks. Teachers in grade levels TK to 1st use iPads, and teachers in grade levels 2nd to 8th use Chromebooks.

Teachers apply to be part of our two-year TTL Program and agree to these requirements:

  • Year 1 professional development and training through monthly TTL Workshops
  • Year 2 continues PD/Training and serves as a site/district trainer on technology integration

Since the beginning of this program, 213 teachers have gone through, or are currently in, the Teacher Technology Leader program. This application is open to all teachers in grades TK-8th.
