Our District currently allows the use of two main platforms for remote learning. The two platforms are Zoom and Google Meet.
The Zoom platform requires the application to be installed on the MacOS or Windows device prior to participating in the Zoom meeting. If the app is not installed, you will be prompted to install it if the device recognizes that it is not available. Generally, you will be presented a link to the installation website. If it is on a tablet or phone, you will be prompted to install the mobile application.
The Zoom app has automatically been installed on all Chromebooks and iPads for students.
The Google Meet platform is included as part of G Suite for Education, so there is no need for installation. The application is cloud/web-based and can generally be found in the Waffle or by navigating to meet.google.com.
One note, our District has recently set up the ability for our students to use Zoom through Clever. If you choose to use Zoom with your students, read the following document to learn how to set it up.
