Sound Innovations Online - this online companion to our band book is a great practicing tool
Reeds, oil & grease are all necessary supplies to keep instruments in top working condition. Reed players should always keep at least three good reeds in their case, and brass players should be maintaining their valves/slides weekly.
We will be using the Sound Innovations method book. Each student will need their own copy. Students will find an access code in the lower-left corner on the back cover of their book to utilize Sound Innovations online. This includes video lessons to help students get started and audio practice tracks.
Using a metronome is a GREAT way to make sure you are playing with a steady beat. You can download a free metronome app or access one online Here.
Bandmate Chromatic Tuner - this free app is a great visual tool for beginning band students! When students play a pitch, the note is displayed on a music staff along with the letter name of the note. This can be particularly helpful for brass students in finding the correct partials.
