Semester 2, Winter 2018: Falconridge Elementary School, Calgary NE
During this placement I was provided the opportunity to plan and present three connected lesson plans during a block-week experience. I integrated ELA and Music curricular outcomes to create a rich learning experience. I further created a checklist as a learning target with my class and used it as a form of formative assessment. Also during this placement, I was able to watch one of my colleagues perform a lesson and provide critical feedback, while the event was reciprocated and I was able to receive valuable feedback on my own.
Semester 1, Fall 2017: Sarah Thompson School, Langdon AB
In this placement, I was given the opportunity to prepare and perform a read aloud lesson plan implementing new teaching strategies and techniques such as think-aloud and book walks, for teaching ELA. I also completed a Calgary Reads training, and conducted weekly Wee Reads sessions with two Kindergarten students. Further, I assisted students in learning through Daily 5 and learning centres.

During this experience, I was given the opportunity to prepare and perform my first ever lesson plan. I was able to observe, along with compare and contrast, the difference between younger elementary and upper elementary classroom environments. I worked on building relationships with students by working closely with struggling learners on reading aloud. I further assisted my mentor with classroom tasks.
Semester 1, Fall 2016: West-mount Charter School, Calgary NW
