The field school is intentionally immersive. Learning will take place through ceremony, walking, listening, observation, conversation, and reflection on the land itself. Students are encouraged to slow down, notice differently, and deepen their relationship with the places they move through—often daily—yet may not fully see. A creative photo essay supports students in reflecting on how their understanding of Calgary, and their own relationship to place, shifts through learning with land and Indigenous knowledge.
By the end of the field school, students will have developed a richer, more relational understanding of Calgary as Indigenous place, and a deeper appreciation for Indigenous knowledge systems as living, contemporary, and grounded in land—even in the heart of the city.
In addition to the tuition costs students will pay an additional fee of $40.
The additional fee includes:
-van transportation
-Materials and supplies
