Hello, my name is Bradley Benoit, and I am currently enrolled in my final year of the Bachelor of Education program at Mount Royal University. In my last semester, I can apply my knowledge in practice teaching grade 4 during my fourteen-week practicum. Some valuable knowledge that impacts my teaching approach is how there are many different ways we have all been taught; ways of seeing, ways of knowing, ways of connecting and ways of learning. We learn about ourselves through interactions with others and everything we experience.
Teachers have always drawn me in as sources of inspiration. Growing up, I saw my teachers as influential people with expansive knowledge in any field. I enrolled in the program that would allow me to become what I have always dreamt of being. Becoming a teacher is only my destination. However, the journey has provided me with a prodigious amount of knowledge in fields that have always interested me. My intellectual interests range from eastern religions, classic literature, and philosophy, so I decided to minor in humanities. Initially, I planned to teach primarily division two, but I am now open to experiencing a teaching position with any age range.
My ultimate goal as a teacher is to prepare my students with the rudimentary skills and knowledge that will allow them to become compassionate, hard-working and honest adults. I want my students to grow as individuals and find their true passion through my teachings.
