I grew up in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and moved to Edmonton when I was 19. I stayed in Edmonton for a few years until I moved to Calgary in 2016. My true passion is music, and I have been playing since I was 12 years old. I have been in multiple different music projects since then and have released several albums. A few other interests of mine include photography, reading, watching movies, and creative writing.
I believe that music is a fantastic way for children to collaborate and learn. Children are raised with universal songs and stories. These songs and stories contain rhythm and rhyme, which makes the subject matter much more memorable. Music classes promote both full engagement and teamwork. A band will not sound right if they are all playing different sheet music. Musicians must converse and discuss what they will be playing. Some may disagree with others, which calls for problem solving and compromisation. Once a band has chosen their song, everybody must do their part to make sure that they have practiced enough to harmonize with the other musicians. These are all points that can be related to how children learn.
