The different groups that took part in the project activities were pupils, teachers, parents and other locals such as owners and or managers of restaurants, local food producers,( farmers, fishermen f.ex. ), shop owners or managers and other local stakeholders of interest.
The students were 15-19 years old and they are all studying at the higher secondary level. They were engaged actively in the project travelling, having different food experiences together, gathering information together as well as reflections upon the experiences. Together they elaborated a e-book with recipes, ideas and reflected together. They also had a competition for a logo, they created reusable shopping bags, and made presentations about sustainability and plastic waste.
The teachers involved in each mobility were 2- 3 in each country. They lead the project in their school during its duration but other teachers of the schools participated too during the whole project and in particular when the activities took place. The teachers’ role was leading the group and setting up the frame of the project, defining together with the students the focus points of the activities. Together the teachers involved organised the main lines of the activities during the transnational and online meetings in the beginning and during the whole project. They also controlled that the logistics worked out, found suitable solutions for communication during the project and facilitated the necessary contacts to the participants. They were the link between the participants form the different countries and the local participants and ensured that the activities fulfilled the goals of the project.
The local participants who participated in project activities, but did not travel as part of the project, took active part in the activities during the mobilities and their active role was that of cooking together with the participants, facilitating information, answering questionnaires, preparing visits for the participants and receiving them and providing them with their knowledge.
