Unit 4: Response to Stimuli
Students will explore various ways in which organisms respond to stimuli. Topics include hormonal response, immune response, nervous systems and behavior. An emphasis will be placed on feedback loops. They will use a case study on HIV to relate immunology to society. Students will use statistical analysis to evaluate effectiveness of antibiotics. They will use their knowledge of biochemistry to understand neuron action potentials.
