Everyone, meet Bullseye! Bullseye is Target Corporation's official mascot and has been used in various marketing campaigns and commercials throughout the years. Bullseye is a bull terrier. It is also important to know that little Bullseye is a “she.” Each version of Bullseye has been played by a female dog—there are currently six! Here is Bullseye, and this is her story.
This is Smudgie, the original Target dog.
Ketchup was another dog who played Bullseye before she unfortunately passed away at the age of 15.
Bullseye debuted in 1999 as part of an advertising campaign for Target Corporation known as "Sign of the Times." The public loved Bullseye and was eager to see more of her. The Target marketing team responded to all the public praise by printing Bullseye all over print, digital, and their first gift card design. Later Target corporations chose to expand Bullseye's campaign to include Value Ambassador when she started in the "See, Spot, Save," campaign.
Modern-day Bullseye's popularity has skyrocketed as a bull terrier with a red logo on her face now has become so much more than a mascot. At the end of the day, Bullseye is not only Target's adorable face but also a dog that single-handedly helps bring the Target brand to life. She is now an Ambassador of Target's circle rewards program and also pops up greeting guests at Bullseye’s Playground or one of the Bullseye benches. She even pops up in your emails whenever you order for Target.com.
This page is dedicated to all the dogs who have portrayed the role of Target's beloved Bullseye, we appreciate you!
