TTAF - Targeted Training & Apprenticeship Fund
The qualifications and programmes listed below are covered under the Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund (TTAF). TTAF will pay the fees on behalf of learners* enrolled in these qualifications and programmes. This list is relevant to Private Training Establishments, Te Pūkenga, Universities, and Wānanga.
All apprenticeships existing as at 1 June 2020 (effectively April 2020 for TEOs using the SDR) are eligible, with further apprenticeships included at the TEC’s discretion. As previously indicated, microcredentials in the targeted areas (at sub-degree levels 3-7) are also eligible for TTAF.
Industry training (work-based) TTAF programmes, including apprenticeships, offered by transitional Industry Training Organisations (ITOs) can be found on each transitional ITO’s website. These programmes are not currently listed on our website due to the large number of programmes available.
A current list of Tertiary Education Organisations (TEOs), grouped by target area and that offer an apprenticeship, qualification or programme covered under the TTAF can be found on our website at the following link:

These qualifications are part of the target areas announced by Education Minister Hon Chris Hipkins. They are areas where demand from employers continues to be strong or is expected to grow during New Zealand’s recovery from Covid-19.
