Did you know you could fulfill all or some of your Nexus requirements while studying abroad?
Mount Holyoke's Nexus - a specialized interdisciplinary minor where you connect 18 credits of coursework with an internship - is not just something that can be done at Mount Holyoke or in the US. The McCulloch Center and the Nexus Program have identified the following programs as offering both coursework and an internship that are relevant to some Nexus tracks. On some programs, it will be possible to complete your full Nexus in one semester abroad. On other programs, it will be possible to complete the internship and potentially some additional coursework that will count toward your Nexus.
The advantages of pursuing some or all of your Nexus requirements abroad include:
program assistance in matching you with an international internship site
gaining global experience employers value
for international students--the ability to complete the internship requirement for the Nexus (US immigration regulations allow students to participate in US-based internships related to your major(s)--not minor or Nexus)
not having to do your internship over the summer, when you may need to work
financial support through the need-based Laurel Fellowship, if you qualify
access to coursework not available at Mount Holyoke or in the Five College Consortium
