MOunt Baker Virtual Learning (MBVL)

The Mount Baker Virtual Learning program allows students an alternative way to progress through junior high or to earn high school credit.  Traditionally, this program has been used for credit retrieval or to support students in unique situations where they could not access traditional MBJH/MBHS courses.  MBHS will continue to offer a limited online program to meet the needs of families during COVID-19

If you have questions about the MBVL program, you can contact MBVL teacher Scott Mann, either high school counselor, or the junior high counselor

Learning Platform

MBVL uses Edgenuity, an online platform for all MBVL classes. Edgenuity is used by schools throughout the country.  Students can access courses at anytime of the day from any computer.

Mode of Instruction

Edgenuity course content is delivered primarily via reading and pre-recorded videos.  The instructors for these courses are not Mount Baker teachers.  Students are assessed on their learning a variety of ways (tests, projects, writing, etc.).

Curriculum

The curriculum in Edgenuity courses is aligned to Washington State Standards, but could vary from some of the curriculum taught in traditional Mount Baker classes.  Many Edgenuity courses are NCAA approved for students anticipating playing sports at the college level.

Courses  Available to MBVL Students

Edgenuity offers hundreds of courses to meet the needs of students throughout the country.  To make sure the courses meet Washington state standards MBVL only offers some courses.
