What is College in the High School (CHS)?
The CHS program is a program where MBHS students take college level classes at MBHS. Students in these classes (see the list below) have the opportunity to earn college credit from Everett Community College. EvCC works with MBHS teachers to align MBHS courses with EvCC standards and curriculum.
What is the cost of CHS classes?
Each CHS course costs $30 for MBHS students. The Mount Baker school district covers the rest of the fees. With a typical 5 college credit course at EvCC costing over $500, the CHS program offers significant savings to students and their families. Students should talk to their counselor if they need financial assistance.
How does a student register for a CHS class?
The first step for students is to choose the CHS classes and preregister for the courses they would like. This is typically done in March each year (when students choose all their courses for the following year). Once a student starts a course, their teacher will instruct them on the steps to enroll at EvCC.
How do I request an EvCC transcript?
If you are applying to college and have taken CHS courses, you need to have your EvCC transcript sent to the colleges to which you are applying. Follow these instructions to request your transcript.
