The Career and Service-Learning Showcase encourages enrolled students and full- and part-time employee mentors to share their work in poster or oral-presentation formats and to celebrate their achievements and accomplishments that positively influence individuals, communities, and societies. Career and service learning provides the opportunities to acquire knowledge and develop values, attitudes, and beliefs for life-long learning as well as a higher sense of purpose.
The Career and Service-Learning Showcase will be held
3:30 - 5 p.m. on April 24, 2025
in the ACWC - Main Gym
as part of the Student Experiential Showcase.
Eligibility and Responsibilities
Students must:
be enrolled in a program at Mount Aloysius College and present at the Career and Service-Learning Symposium
present the project at the Symposium.
Mentors must:
be full- or part-time employees of Mount Aloysius College and supervise all aspects of the project.
Submission Guidelines and Process
Students will present their career and service learning project via a poster presentation.

Steps to Participate:
Complete the Career and Service-Learning Application to Participate by March 28, 2025, so we can appropriately plan the symposium. Please make sure to secure your mentor's approval.

Submit the Career and Service-Learning Poster Form by April 21, 2025. Your poster will be printed in the Support Center at no cost to you and your poster will be shared on the Career and Service Learning Site.
Career and Service-Learning Symposium Poster Required Criteria:
Name(s) of Mount Aloysius College student participants
Course title
Course instructor
Community Partner name
Brief description of community needs that were addressed in the project
Brief description of the project
Include information about your evaluation AND reflection
Brief description of how the project related to the learning goals and objectives of the course (hint: you’ll need your syllabus)
Pictures from the project and resources
Tools from the project (if applicable)
Examples of pamphlets, videos, etc. that were created as a result of your project
Watch carefully for an email from the Career and Service-Learning Chair with instructions on when and where to pick up and deliver your printed poster for display during Student Experiential Learning Week.
Join your poster by 3:15 p.m. on April 24, 2025, and be ready to explain your project to interested parties.

Guidelines and Process by Presentation Format
Poster Guidelines and Process:
All posters must:
be 36 inches wide by 24 inches tall
have a white background
include a title in large font across the top and identify the career and service learning researchers (student and mentor) below in smaller font
include a description of the project including the needs of the community partner that were addressed
include a brief description of how the project related to the learning goals and outcomes of the course (see syllabus of the course to identify goals and outcomes)
include pictures of people, resources, etc.
include a refection and/or evaluation of the successes and areas of growth identified
