An Annual Publication

Write On! plans to produce a yearly publication featuring the work of writers who are incarcerated. 

By creating a digital, open-access publication, we seek to amplify the voices of writers behind bars. This publication and related activities align with the re-entry agenda, which includes promoting reformation and reducing rates of recidivism. 

MSU students will support this publication by: 

• Participating in writing workshops

• Collecting participants’ writing samples

• Facilitating peer reviews 

• Creating a digital archive of participants’ writings and related creative works

In the future, we also intend to produce physical publications to share our work with more members of the Lansing community. A physical publication is more accessible for incarcerated writers, who may not have consistent or reliable Internet access. 

Ultimately, we want all of our participants – and more members of the Greater Lansing Area, and beyond – to have access to the writing that emerges from this program.
