Meredith is a sophomore from Livonia, Michigan and is in the College of Education, studying Elementary Education with a focus in Mathematics. Upon graduation from Michigan State she plans to complete her student teaching year, as well as earn her Master's Degree in K-12 Educational Administration. She first wants to begin working in the classroom for a couple of years and then begin to work as an administrator. Meredith is very passionate about working with young children and hopes to inspire many children in the future.
Madison is a senior from San Diego, California, and is studying Psychology and double minoring in Educational Studies and Youth and Society. After her undergraduate career, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in School or Educational Psychology. She is interested in research regarding motivation and academic achievement.
Daijin is from China, currently studying master's degree in Teaching and Curriculum. She received her bachelor's degree at MSU in Elementary Education. When she graduates, she wants to be a Chinese teacher in the US.
Becca finished her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with minors in Spanish and Speech Pathology in the Spring of 2021. She is now working as a student teacher through MSU's Teaching Internship in a second grade classroom, where she will be the entire school year. She plans to go to school to finish up her Speech Pathology certification after this year. Becca hopes to work in an environment where she can inspire young people to express themselves and realize their own potential. She is interested in research having to do with students’ motivation related to self-efficacy.
Sawyer is a senior from Kingsford, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. He is currently in the College of Education studying Elementary Education with focuses in Language Arts and Mathematics. Once graduating from MSU in the Spring of 2022, he will continue onto his student teaching internship in Grand Rapids or Detroit. He then hopes to work in a classroom as a late elementary/middle school teacher upon completion. After some experience in the classroom, Sawyer has thought about possibly pursuing a professional degree in Educational Administration, Educational Psychology, or Curriculum/Instruction/Teacher Education. Sawyer loves to downhill ski, play hockey, football, golf, and also water skis in the summer.
Nina is a junior from Grosse Pointe, Michigan and is studying Statistics with an actuarial science minor. After her undergraduate career, she would like to further her education by taking the Actuarial Exams.
Yichen is from China and is currently earning a Master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum at MSU. She earned her B.A. in Elementary Education at MSU in 2020. Yichen is teaching PreK this year at a local Chinese immersion elementary school. During the pandemic years of teaching, she has developed an interest in leveraging meaningful technologies and innovating pedagogies to engage students’ learning and promote learning outcomes. So, after she receives her Master's degree in Teaching and Curriculum, she hopes to apply to another Master’s program in innovation/technology in education.
Catie joined the lab as a freshman working as a PA. She is a math major with a focus in secondary education with the hopes of becoming a high school math teacher. She is from Evanston, Illinois, a north suburb of Chicago. She is a competitive figure skater and competes with MSU figure skating team. She likes baking and meeting new people. She is loving her time here at MSU!
Robin is a junior from Lansing in the College of Education at Michigan State University studying social science education and Chicano/Latino Studies. Upon graduation from MSU and completing his year of student teaching,Robinplans on becoming a high school history and political science teacher at a Michigan high school for a very, very long time.
