Dr. Jisun Lee: Interior Design Presentation and Media

Dr. Jisun Lee is recognized for her innovative use of technology in IDES 343, a course that focuses on visual communication and media within interior design. Her teaching integrates digital tools that support professional-level presentation skills while helping students translate creative concepts into compelling visual narratives. Through the strategic use of technology, Lee enhances student engagement and prepares learners to work confidently with contemporary media tools used in the design industry. Her work reflects a strong alignment between instructional goals, hands-on learning, and technology-supported creativity.

At this year’s Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) conference, Dr. Jisun Lee was recognized as one of the top three in the Design Research category for her research, “Multimodal Insights into Indoor Greenery Impacts on Hotel Brand Equity.”

Dr. Lee's advisee, Yeayoung Kim, was also awarded first place for her study, “Nature-Connected Design and Patient Perception in Primary Care Exam Rooms.”

In February 2026, the Digital Scholarship Lab (DSL) partnered with Dr. Jisun Lee to bring immersive media production into PDC 491 – Special Topics in Planning, Design and Construction: Virtual Reality Application in Interior Design. This collaboration was made possible through a Catalyst Grant from MSU’s Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation (CTLI), which supports faculty in developing innovative digital learning experiences.
