The purpose of this website is to give Michigan State students and the surrounding community a resource to learn about outdoor education opportunities. We want to bring experiential and environmental learning to the MSU campus. This type of learning involves discovery through experiences and reflections, and then the application of this knowledge to the community around you. By emphasizing a personal sense of place, this website will help people learn about their environment and communities, whether it is through discovering a new nature center or learning about a club here at MSU!
This website has information about a range of places, activities, and events in which to participate. There is a page dedicated to on and off-campus activities, including where they are located, a description of the history, approximate cost, transportation, and much more! It also contains Michigan State clubs and organizations, so that you can easily access them and get involved! Finally, we included internship and study abroad opportunities and tips.
We are a group of undergraduate students tasked with creating a community engagement project for our Community-Based Environmental and Sustainability Education course (CSUS 445). We are comprised mostly of seniors who previously did not know about a lot of these places until taking this class. We want other MSU students to be able to enjoy and share these sites during their experience at MSU!
