President

Anna Virgl (she/her/hers)

Currently a Sophomore at MSU, Anna is double majoring in ESS and Sustainable Parks, Recreation, and Tourism (SPRT). She is originally from Illinois and now lives in Indiana. Her goal is to work with national parks after she graduates in the Fall of 2025.

Her studies are mainly focused in Education and Sustainable Parks and Recreation. 

In her free time, Anna loves to hangout with friends and and family. She loves to be outside whether that is hiking or relaxing on a hammock. She also enjoys playing with her hedgehog, mouse.

Vice President 

Mel Miles (she/her/hers/they/their/theirs)

Currently a Junior at MSU, Mel is majoring in ESS with two minors in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems and Leadership in Integrated Learning. She is also a member of the Bailey Scholars Program and currently works for Allen Neighborhood Center at their Hunter Park Garden House as a Spring Intern. 

Their studies focus primarily on Sustainable Agriculture and Community Engagement. She is also interested in Community Sustainability and Environmental Education. 

Some of her favorite things include gardens, divorced dad rock, and thrifting.

Treasurer 

Karleigh Duffield (she/her/hers)

Currently a Senior at MSU, Karleigh is majoring in ESS with minors in Business and Science Technology Environment and Public Policy (STEPP). She is also a member of the Honors College is currently conducting research for both the Community Sustainability and Forestry Departments. Karleigh worked for West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation as Camp Program Assistant Manager for the past two summers. 

Her studies focus on environmental and natural resource policy, as well as sustainability efforts through community engagement.

In her free time, Karleigh enjoys spending time with friends and family, downhill skiing, and hiking.

Secretary 

Delaney McIntyre (she/her/hers)

Currently a Freshman at MSU, Delaney is majoring in ESS. She currently works at the MSU Recycling Center and as an Eco-Rep on campus. This summer, she is interning with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) at Fayette State Park.

Her studies mainly focus on sustainability and public policy.

Some of Delaney’s favorite things include her pets, popcorn, hiking, and singing broadway hits while driving.

Social Chair 

Erin Casey (she/her/hers)


Currently a Junior at MSU, Erin is majoring in ESS with a minor in Marine Ecosystems Management. She was born and raised in Metro Detroit. Her goal is to work with animals in the field of conservation after she graduates in the Spring of 2025.This summer she is studying abroad doing conservation work in South Africa and Costa Rica. 


Her studies are mainly focused on Wildlife Conservation and Community Sustainability. 


In her free time, Erin enjoys traveling, doing yoga, going to concerts, trying new restaurants, and playing with her cat, Juniper.

Digital Content Manager

Emily Hill (she/her/hers)

Currently a Sophomore at MSU, Emily is an ESS Major with a minor in Leadership of Organizations.  Currently, she is working as a Student Assistant with MSU's Office of Sustainability to boost awareness of sustainable resources across campus through social media efforts, benchmark current university practices, and run the office's Student Sustainability Leadership Council. Additionally, she holds a Student Coordinator position with MSU's New Student Orientation Office where she helps engage incoming students through multiple avenues.

Her studies focus on community engagement, sustainability education, and sustainable leadership practices.

In her free time, Emily loves thrifting with her friends, reading, and attending MSU basketball games.

Volunteer Coordinator

Claire Hardie (she/her/hers)

Claire is a sophomore at MSU, double majoring in ESS and Sustainable Parks, Recreation, and Tourism (SPRT). Last summer, she interned with a nonprofit in Ashland, Oregon, as part of their Wilderness Conservation Corps. This summer, she has an AmeriCorps position on a conservation camping crew in Washington state.

Her studies mainly focus on natural resource management and community sustainability.

In her free time, Claire enjoys backpacking, camping, yoga, coffee, and thrifting with friends.
