To begin with, the Warriors franchise began in 2003 with the first book written, Into the Wild. The group formed as a response to an ad about books needed with a setting of wild cats in the forest, and the group came together from different countries through the power of the internet, and knowing little about cats, were unsure of what to write. Then they realized the best fantasy books don’t focus on the semantics like what a cat should act like, but rather the story itself, and thus they simply focused on human experiences in general.1
Their media presence has advanced greatly over the years. At first, it was virtually non-existent, but as the internet advanced along with their flowering company, so too did their voice in online media. They established first their Official Website, then created Facebook and Twitter profiles, and latter even created a Warriors informational app.1 Having a strong fanbase that continues to grow, the fans themselves are active participants of these services, as well as on YouTube and WarriorsWiki. The YouTube videos portray a variety of critics and fans alike, either fan created scenarios or characters from the books themselves. The WarriorsWiki has a wealth of information about the Warrior's world and all the characters involved. Overall, one can see the company has a sound media presence that doesn’t fall short when it comes to advertising its products.
