CeLTA

Center for Language Teaching Advancement

While my teaching duties and commitments to the MAFLT program itself have taken up the majority of my time and effort at MSU, I have also participated in a range of events and initiatives in the Center for Language Teaching Advancement (CeLTA). I have presented three sessions in the Professional Development series, including an introduction to D2L with Anne Baker in the year when it was adopted, a workshop on reflective teaching, and a workshop on teaching intercultural competence, and attended many more. When CeLTA decided to engage in a process of reviewing and updating its mission statement in AY 2016-17, I sat on a 3-person committee with Koen Van Gorp and Luca Giupponi to consider the relationship between CeLTA’s mission and activities and suggest areas of emphasis for the future.

The slides for two of those presentations are embedded below, and the memo produced by that committee can be read here: CeLTA Mission Statement Memo.
