Maine State Police Family

We have made plans for our Maine State Police family, to include sworn and non-sworn MSP Personnel, retirees and their families to park at 14 Ocean Gateway off of Commercial Street in Portland.

Upon arrival at the parking area, family members and retirees will receive a distinct identifier to be worn on their clothing to allow them access to reserved seating in the first ten rows of Section U, Section V and Section W in the Cross Insurance Arena.

UNIFORMED PERSONNEL ARRIVAL and TRANSPORT to the STAGING AREA

Uniformed personnel will be bused from the Ocean Gateway to the staging area at the Portland Fish Pier.

The plan for timing will be as follows:

• Uniformed Troopers will be moved to the Portland Fish Pier first
• Once the Troopers have been transported, the same buses will return to pick up family members, retirees and Non-sworn MSP Personnel and transport them to the venue
• Uniformed personnel need to be at the Ocean Gateway no later than 7:30 a.m. to park
• Departure for uniformed Troopers will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.
• Water and portable toilets will be available at the Ocean Gateway

MSP FAMILY MEMBERS, RETIREES and NON-SWORN MSP Personnel ARRIVAL and TRANSPORT to the VENUE

All family members and retirees will be bused from the Ocean Gateway to the venue at the Cross Insurance Arena.

• Departure for the families and retirees will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
• Families and retirees should wait in this area for buses to return and pick them up to take them to the venue
• Families and retirees should anticipate some wait time for the buses, this can be lessened by the uniformed personnel being prompt and timely with their arrival and departure
• Water and portable toilets will be available at the Ocean Gateway

TRANSPORT from the VENUE back to the PARKING AREA

At the completion of the ceremony, uniformed personnel, their families, retirees and Non-Sworn MSP Personnel should make the short walk to the Portland Fish Pier (1 Portland Fish Pier) at the intersection of Center Street and Commercial Street where all personnel will be directed to the appropriate bus back to their designated parking area.

Troopers should feel free to drop their family at the venue prior to parking but should bear in mind that the doors to the venue will not open until 10:00 a.m.
