SkillsUSA is the #1 workforce development organization for students. Through SkillsUSA, you will have opportunities to grow your skillset, discover various career paths, develop employability skills through the SkillsUSA Framework, engage with business and industry partners, build leadership qualities and showcase your skills on the local, region, state and national levels.
The SkillsUSA Framework has three components: Personal, Workplace and Technical Skills Grounded in Academics. There are 17 Essential Elements within the three components. The Essential Elements are skills that employers are looking for in potential employees. Through SkillsUSA, you will not only build these skills, but you will learn how to communicate your employability skills!
The Program of Work is how we run our SkillsUSA chapter! There are six divisions, and you can choose which division committee to serve on:
Workplace Experiences
Leadership Development
Advocacy and Marketing
Partner and Alumni Engagement
Financial Management
Community Engagement
Showcase the work that you are doing in your SkillsUSA chapter through the Chapter Excellence Program (CEP) application! You are doing the work in your Program of Work committees, and you will talk about how you've grown Essential Element skills, developed SMART goals and maintained a budget in your CEP application. Your CEP application could earn your chapter state and national recognition!
