We follow the Whole Brain Rules in our classroom. They are:
1. Follow directions quickly.
2. Raise your hand for permission to speak.
3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.
4. Make smart choices.
5. Keep your learning community happy.
To enforce these rules, a positive character trait clip chart is being used this year. All students will start off the clip chart and will move on to different character traits they are showing throughout the day. Moving to these character traits takes a lot of work, so you will not see every child moving onto the chart every day.Â
If negative behaviors become too regular in the classroom, the student will write a note home to their parents explaining what happened and what they need to work on.
