Agendas and Purple Folders

Each day, your child will bring home a purple folder and agenda. All homework and school papers will be kept in the purple folder. All assignments that will be homework for your child will be written in the agenda.

 Please initial the agenda each night. Your child will get Scott Bucks for having it signed.

This is also a great place to write me any notes about changes in dismissal or something I need to see first thing in the morning.

Dismissal

Please send in a note to the teacher if your child’s dismissal procedures will be different than usual. You can

• Write it in your child’s agenda

• Put a note in your child’s purple folder

• Send an email to Mrs. Zerjal BEFORE 1:00.
  I will respond to your email if I see it.
  If I don’t respond, please call the office.

Birthdays

You can send in a treat for your child’s birthday. If you send in food, please make sure each item is individually wrapped and has an ingredient list for allergies. 

Lunch with your child

You are invited to enjoy lunch with your child 4 times throughout the year. Your child can have two people visit each time. You may choose these dates as you wish. For more information, contact the office. You are not allowed to bring in Fast Food for these lunches.

Scott Bucks

Our entire school uses Scott Bucks. Your child can receive Scott Bucks in any location in the building when caught showing that they are being a STAR. At the end of each month, students will get to shop at the Scott Store and cash in their money for some fun items!

School Behavior Policy

Our school motto is “Be a STAR”: 

S = Stay Safe

T = Take Responsibility

A = Be Accepting

R = Be Respectful

Students are given verbal reminders & warnings throughout the building.  After warnings, students will be given a “minor” or “major” depending on the situation. Each minor will result in missing a portion of Fun Friday. A major will result in missing the entirety of Fun Friday and another consequence. 

Classroom Expectations

We follow five rules in our classroom. They are:

1. Follow directions quickly.

2. Raise your hand for permission to speak.

3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.

4. Make smart choices.

5. Keep your learning community happy.

TWe have a character trait clip chart in the room to reinforce the positive behaviors we all strive for. On this clip chart, all students start off the chart and only clip over for positive things. There is no negative movement of clips.
