The next scene is a background on how these girls came together and a little bit about them. The three girls are Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. Rumi’s mom was a previous hunter, but died when Rumi was an infant. Mira is from a family where she was “the black sheep.” Zoey is a Korean American who grew up in the USA and moved to Korea.
These girls all have their insecurities, but Rumi has a deep secret that she tells no one except her Mom’s friend, and caretaker, Celine.Rumi is half demon and is ashamed of that side of her. The next few scenes involve Rumi's self confidence dwindling till she meets a demon boy Jinu, who is one of the villains. He performs to destroy the Honmoon with his demon boy band.

This boy band consists of five boys: Abby, Romance, Baby, Mystery, and Jinu. Jinu had sold his soul to the Demon King, Gwi-ma to save himself from poverty 400 years prior to modern day. He trusts Rumi with time; she even tries to free him from Gwi-ma. Eventually Gwi-ma manipulates Jinu into thinking he could never be free from the guilt of leaving his family behind. Gwi-ma has promised to rid him of these memories if he betrays Rumi, and follow his mission through.
He breaks the girls apart by showing Rumi's demon marks to them, and is almost successful in helping Gwi-ma take over the world.
In a critical moment Rumi accepts herself and her patterns. The girls come back together, and defeat Gwi-ma, with Jinu giving his soul to help Rumi defeat him. Jinu ends up giving Rumi his soul and dies.
