- Book Bingo: For this challenge, students will try to earn a bingo by reading books from various categories. Students will earn prizes as they fill up their board.
- 40 Book Challenge: Students will try to read 40 books in the school year. That breaks down to about one book per week. You're right if you think that this is a very big and challenging goal for 6th graders! Remember, students are expected to read every night for 20 minutes or more. If students consistently read for 20 minutes or more per night, this goal is very attainable! Students will receive a prize once they read 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 books!

- Students should choose which books they want to read. Books, magazines, and manuals (like Hunter's Safety) count.
- If you want to listen to an audiobook, just be sure to follow along in the paper copy of the book for it to count towards the challenge.
- Ask your teacher if you would like to be enrolled in a computer program called Learning Ally to have access to thousands of popular audiobooks!
- Books that are over 250 pages count as 2 books. *See conversion chart to the right for more info.
- Try to broaden the range of different genres (types) of books that you read. Students are expected to read at least one book from the genres listed below.

- Record your book in the 40 Book Challenge document
