STAFF WELLNESS
Restorative Justice Project is offering a "Moment to Connect"
These circles are voluntary, free, and commitment free. We hope to co-create an hour long environment where anyone who joins has a chance to breathe alongside others and feel appreciated for the ways that they are helping our communities to continue to function despite great adversity currently. We would love to hold space for each of you. Bring your pets/kids/spouses/mother/friend on camera--cook dinner while we circle--this is for you, so you do you.
Circle will be held on Mondays from 6pm-7pm through the month of February.

What is Burnout?
In thinking about wellness we also need to acknowledge Burnout. Burnout is defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary as "exhaustion of physical or emotional strength or motivation usually as a result of prolonged stress or frustration". This is the culmination of all stress: people, politics, agency, work expectations. It is important to learn about and be aware of Burnout as it effects many individuals and can sometimes look similar to depression, anxiety or fear related disorders, stress related disorders and mood disorders. Burnout is preventable by taking care of yourself, everyday, both during and outside of working hours. It starts with permission, you have permission to care of yourself, you are a priority. Go for walks, be mindful of your emotions and ask for help when needed, step away from your computer, carve out time to eat a nutritious meal and socialize with your peers. These are all critical in reducing burnout and creating a positive work climate.
