The more you know about how substances affect your mind and body the more informed you are on if you should use substances. Some reasons teens and young adults may start using substances is due to peer pressure and wanting to fit in socially or have learned that using substances is a way to cope with life stressors through a parent, adult role model or a close peer.
POWER to the PARENT
Choose your Path shows teens acting out how our "in the moment" choices can have a huge impact on us and those around us. We always have a choice, sometimes we make choices that are not in the best interest of ourselves or others. -Stop and Think- If I make this choice now what could happen to me, to my friends or my family? Will this choice benefit me or others now? How about in the future? Have I been in this situation before and what did I do last time?
