Coronavirus /COVID-19

COVID 19 is a disease that has spread from Wuhan China to nearly every country in the world. The virus has killed many people and caused a stay-at-home order in many countries. Here is some more information on COVID 19.
Impact on Trade
The US and China have traded about $659.8 billion both ways
The US exports about $120.3 billion
Soybeans and commercial aircraft are largest exports
China exports about $539.5 billion
Technology, shoes, sporting goods and clothing are largest exports
President Trump and China's chief trade negotiator put the two-year-old trade war on halt on January 15.
China's exports went down 17.2% and 7.1 billion from that time last year.
Stay at Home Order
Maine gave the stay at home order on April 2.
The first state to order people to stay home was California on March 19.
All states except for Iowa, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, and Arkansas had given a stay at home order as of April 20
Wyoming, Utah and Oklahoma had not given a statewide stay at home order as of April 20
18 states are partially reopening including Maine
6 are opening soon
26 are staying shut down
Maine
Through the quarantine, Maine has allowed pharmacies, grocery stores, financial institutions, home repair services, car repair services and child care for essential workers to stay open.
People are required to wear cloth masks in public.
No gatherings of over 10 people.
Drive-in movie theaters, barber shops/ hair salons, pet grooming, health care, stay-in-your-car religious services, car washes, golf / disk golf and some state parks or historic sites reopened on May 1.
If COVID 19 does not spike again, on June 1:
Gathering size may rise to 50 people.
State employees will return to the workplace.
Coastal state parks, campgrounds, fitness centers, retail stores, day camps for children and restaurants will reopen
If COVID 19 continues not to spike on July 1:
Bars, spas, hotels, summer camps and rv parks can reopen.
