The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13 in the Super Bowl on February 8th, 2026 and the story that got them here is a wild one.

This year's NFL season has been full of ups and downs, with top tier teams falling like the Chiefs who after making the super bowl last year weren't even going to the playoffs.

Let's start in the NFC Wildcard round, the San Francisco 49ers beat the reigning champs, Philadelphia Eagles, in a close game with a final score of 23-19.  This ended any shot Philadelphia had at going back to the Super Bowl.Then later that night the Chicago Bears played the Green Bay Packers at halftime, the Packers were leading 21-3 but the Bears came back by some miracle to win it 31-27 with a crazy comeback win on January 10th   

 The Los Angeles Rams beat the Panthers 34-31 with a final touchdown drive by the Rams MVP Candidate quarterback Matthew Stafford carrying his team to the win.

For the AFC wildcard, it was a crazy week with the Houston Texans crushing the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-6 and then the Buffalo Bills beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in a close game ending 27-24, and finally the New England Patriots demolished the Los Angeles Chargers 16-3.

Now we can tackle the Divisional rounds. Firstly, the Seattle Seahawks had a BYE week in the NFC, and Denver Broncos had a BYE in the AFC so they're playing even though they weren't in the wildcard. Firstly the Seahawks slaughtered the 49ers 41-6 with a crazy 95 Yard kickoff return.  The Rams squeaked by the Bears to the championship 20-13.  

 In the AFC, the Texans were bested by the Patriots with a terrible performance by CJ Stroud with 4 interceptions ending with the score 28-16 on January 18th then just an hour and a half later The Bills were sent home by Denver in overtime with some questionable pass interference calls ending the score 33-30 and Denver's starting QB Boe Nix walked or more accurately limped away with a fractured ankle ending his season early 

In the NFC championship the Seahawks beat the Rams in a close game with the score being 27-31 on January 25th  In the AFC Championship, the Patriots beat the Broncos in another nail biter.   With a tie game at half time, and then the Pats lead with a field goal in the 3rd quarter advancing the Patriots to the Super Bowl on January 25th.

For Super Bowl 60, the combatants were set for Super Bowl 60. The Patriots were playing the Seahawks. This might bring back some deja vu for fans from Super Bowl 49  The Pats beat the Hawks 28-24 ending after an interception at the goal line. This year's Super bowl is not the game to watch if you like high scoring close games with the Seahawks being up by 3 field goals by half time.One Bad Bunny Halftime show performance later, and the Seahawks scored another field goal in the 3rd quarter and for the 4th and final quarter, the Seahawks scored 2 tds and a field goal while the pats scored Two tds as well, leaving the final scoring being 29-13 with the Seahawks getting their revenge for 49 and walking away with the Lombardi trophy and leaving Kenneth Walker III with the MVP!
