The 2022 MLB regular season has come to an end, and we are now in the postseason. The regular season has had some memorable moments, and many other people can agree.
“It’s been super fun to watch, the games have been a blast, and I can’t wait for next season,” 7th grader Andy Goodman said during an interview.
The season was filled with unforgettable moments. Cardinals legend Albert Pujols joined Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, and Barry Bonds as the only players to hit 700 home runs. Yankees slugger Aaron Judge set the American League home run record in a single season with 62, and Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh hit a walk off home run to get the Seattle Mariners a playoff spot for the first time in 21 years. It also included Tigers legend Miguel Cabrera reaching 3,000 hits on April 23.
The 101-win, New York Mets had the division title snatched by the Braves. In the playoffs, they lost to the San Diego Padres in the wild card round, losing in 3 games. St. Louis Cardinals legends Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina played the final games of their career, each getting hits in their final at bats. The Cardinals lost the wild card round to the Phillies.
The Philadelphia Phillies faced off against the Atlanta Braves. The Phillies, with help from stars Rhys Hoskins and Bryce Harper, upset the Braves in four games. The most exciting moment of the series came when Rhys Hoskins crushed a three run home run in game 3 off of rookie pitcher Spencer Strider.
The New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians played an exciting 5 game ALDS. The Yankees won the series in five games. One exciting moment came when Giancarlo Stanton blasted a three-run homer in the first inning of the deciding game 5. In the NLCS, the Padres and the Phillies played each other. The Phillies won in 5 games. The NLCS MVP was Bryce Harper for batting .400 and hitting 2 home runs, including a clutch go-ahead home run in the bottom of the 8th inning in the decisive game 5.
In the American League, the Astros faced the Yankees in the ALCS. The Astros swept the Yankees, stampeding to the world series for the fourth time in six years. The world series will be the Phillies versus the Astros.

This was a fun season, with many unforgettable moments, and it is coming to an end with the world series upon us. Who knows what can happen next year?
