During school, do you ever suddenly feel hungry? After school, it's great to hang out, but once you need something to eat, it’s hard to decide where to go to eat your favorite foods. So to solve those hungry thoughts, we went to places to get something to eat after school. The things we are rating on are reliability, efficiency (to order), time (to get food), price, interior/looks, and the food. Here are the options that they are going to rate and rank. NOTE: The rankings below are in order by rating.
#1 Cesar’s Empanadas: While we were making their list, we originally didn’t think of the popular food truck near the mall, Cesar’s Empanadas. But while Milo was asking people about their favorite food places, a ton of people mentioned Cesar’s Empanadas. So, to follow the crowds, we went to Cesar’s Empanadas after school that day, to scope it out. To spice things up, we also brought two more people to help rate the food together. When we got to the food truck, we bought three beef empanadas, one for each of us. The price of each empanada was around three dollars. It took around 30 seconds to get our food, which was a pleasure. We opened up the plastic bag they came in; out came more. They used so many plastic bags that it was a point off. However, the food masked that point off. The food was phenomenal, so phenomenal that Alan couldn’t get enough and Milo bought more to take home with him. RATING: 8/10
#2 Dunkin Donuts: Dunkin is a really common place to just get a donut, munchkin, or MUNCH more. We knew a bite would most likely be a donut or munchkin, considering that those are the most popular. We went to the Dunkin Donuts on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. We got two donuts, a boston kreme and a strawberry frosted with sprinkles. It was fast to get the donuts and the price wasn’t that bad. It was around two bucks for one donut. There were no seats, so we placed the bag on a high table near the window, opened it, and started eating. The donuts were donuts, a sweet delicious dessert. RATING: 7.8
#3 Good Morning Deli: This might not come to mind when you think of things to eat, because delis mostly sell snacks, but they also sell sandwiches and other things. Apparently, people have said it is a really good place to get sandwiches. We heard from others that they had slushies. We knew it was something most places don’t have. This intrigued us more, so we decided to pay Good Morning a visit.
Right away when you walk inside, it hits you; the two long aisles loaded with bags and bags of delicious snacks. On the left, you see the glorious slushie machine, or, dare I say, three machines. Blue raspberry, cherry, and orange are the three colorful flavors of slush heaven. The best part about the slushies is that they let you mix flavors. All of the flavors were delicious and freezing cold. We decided to get a slushie and a grilled cheese sandwich. Alan reports the sandwich was great. The bread was toasted and the cheese was melted. Milo says the slushie was an icy cold refresher. RATING: 7.7
#4 Halal Paradise: Ah, the green food truck near the subway, a common place to get delicious food. It’s a really nice food truck selling a lot of things such as fries, burgers, and hot dogs. A good area to fulfill your hungry stomach needs. We got a chicken gyro and some french fries. Alan chose the chicken gyro and got to choose what sauce and what vegetables he wanted. He chose cabbage and tomatoes and chose some non spicy sauce. Alan loved it because it was his first time eating a gyro, and he thought it was super good. Milo got the fries and he decided to wait until he got home to eat because it was raining. Milo reports that the fries were extremely soggy and didn’t have salt on them, which is an essential ingredient for good fries. RATING: 7.5
So we tried the places to get snacks. But what do other people say? Ze Yuan Wang from 606. Ze said his favorite place to get a snack is Fourth Avenue Market, the place on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Pacific Street. His favorite item on the menu is the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich.“The place is really clean and the prices are okay…It’s also efficient because it has two cashier booths.”
The other people we interviewed all said different things and had different opinions, but alas, is there a best place to get a snack? In the end, we figured out that there is no best food place for all. It isn’t possible, because people all have different opinions. Even though we said that Dunkin’ was 7.8, or Cesar’s Empanadas was 8, it’s not the same for everyone.
So that’s it. There is no best place to get a bite to eat. Feel free to try out these places for yourself, and rate them.
