The Student Council has been hard at work, ranging from door decorating, the CHIPS food drive, and upcoming events like candy grams and the spring dance. Let's go over everything the student council has done.
The door decorating was where friends could decorate a door to its topic together, which was the ocean. The room that won was room 437A, and the room’s team won a pizza party. The Student Council members decided the winner’s door. Either way, students had a way to make the doors look better around the school building.
“I really like the decorated doors and I think it makes the school so much more colorful,” Lei from 706 said. “Everyone added creativity and their own style into the doors.”
Nylah from 705 also added, “I think it’s a fun and great way for kids to interact with each other and have fun while doing it too.”
Then there was the CHIPS food drive, in which the Student Council hosted people to bring in canned food and packaged food to give to CHIPS, a food organization that helps people around the community. At the end of the drive, a lot of people raised food for the Student Council to give to CHIPS
An anonymous 6th grader said “I think it’s a very good thing that the Student Council is hosting an initiative that helps the community around us,”
Now for the upcoming events, candy grams and the spring dance! The candy grams are little nice notes you can buy for people that also include candy, and the spring dance being a fun time for music and other fun activities for the students. The spring dance is happening March 1st, from 4:30 to 7:00.
So there you have it, the Student Council recap, and the upcoming events. Everything the student council did and is doing is great, and everything upcoming is going to be fun for the students and the school.
