We’re sure everyone at MS 447 knows about the cell phone policy, even though some have mixed opinions. There really are simple rules. You’re not allowed to use your cellphone at all during school; even during lunch. When you enter the school, turn off your cell phone and put it in your backpack. This seems easy enough to some, but a lot of kids disagree. For example, 6th grader Emily Baez said “I think it’s fine that we shouldn't use our phones during school, but we should at lunch.” As well as 6th grader Nya Uribe who said, “ I think it’s kind of unfair because we should be able to use our phones at lunch so we can contact our parents.” Although some students think it’s fine, like 6th grader Amelie Katzman who said, “ I think it seems right for school.”
So many opinions! It seems like the majority of students think that there should not be a cell phone policy, or that we should at least be allowed to use our phones at lunch. There are still many different opinions about the cell phone policy.
So should the cell phone policy change? Students like Nya and Emily think it should. Other students think we should follow school rules because there is nothing wrong with them. After all, our cell phone policy is not very rare for middle school. People definitely have different opinions though, so maybe it will change. Like all things it depends on how many people want it to change.
