I choose red beans and rice because it is a dish me and my dad make together. It is a cajon dish and from New Orleans, where my dad is from. I also like to make this dish because it is darn good. This is a delicious dish that is somewhat easy to make and yummy to eat. I enjoy making and want others to enjoy it too, as long as they don't mess the recipe up.
Made of:
Red Beans
Rice
1 Green Pepper
1 stick of Celery
1 Onion
2 packs of cut Sausage
3 basil leaves
Instructions:
Soak the beans overnight.
Turn the stove on and turn it to high.
Chop up the green pepper, celery, and onion.
Sweat them ( put the vegetables in a pot with putter and stir until the onions are somewhat see through ).
Once you are done sweating the vegetables add the basil leaves and continue stirring the pot.
After about a minute or two add the sausage and continue stirring.
Add the beans and the water ( add more water if the whole of the vegetables is not covered in water ) and wait for it to boil.
Once it is boiling turn the heat to a simmer.
Put the lid on the pot and check the dish every 45 minutes until the liquid watery.
And then make some rice.
Then plate it and bon appetit!
