GLITCH Productions, the New Animation Craze

If you like animation and the community around it,especially on YouTube, there’s no doubt that you’ve heard of GLITCH Productions! They are the people behind the hit indie animation series The Amazing Digital Circus which got an astonishing 406,000,000 views on its pilot alone, and over 1,016,000,000 views on the entire series! Now, the series has even broken through YouTube and is now available on Netflix as well as another GLITCH indie animated series Murder Drones that has made it onto Prime Video.
The Amazing Digital Circus isn’t the only show that GLITCH Productions has created however, as they have also made, animated, and/or backed Murder Drones, Knights of Guinevere, The Gaslight District, Sunset Paradise, Meta Runner, and now the full release of Lackadaisy. GLITCH also has a new upcoming show, Gamoverse! GLITCH also has a number of big names creating their shows and voicing their characters. Dana Tarace, creator of The Owl House is the main director behind Knights of Guinevere, Ross O'Donovan, one of the Game Grumps behind Gamoverse, and Jschlatt, popular streamer voicing the character “Kaboodle” in Gamoverse.
Before GLITCH Productions was the popular indie studio it is now, it was the YouTube channel SMG4, created by Luke Lerdwichagul and Kevin Lerdwichagul. They started off making skits and memes based on the game Super Mario 64, over time they created new characters and gained a massive fanbase of almost 10 million subscribers with 1,000 videos and 5,616,590,728 views across the board!
Ellis O Leary from 705 said that his favorite show was The Amazing Digital Circus, he specifically said, “I really like it but got scared off by the third episode. I really like the concept!”
This makes sense as Episode 3 has more traditional horror than the rest of the show which goes for a more existential horror vibe. Kiran Katki from 704’s favorite GLITCH show was Murder Drones because “The characters (especially the loveable disassembly drone N) are really good.”
Interestingly, none of the people we interviewed knew about SMG4, maybe this is due to GLITCH productions having a more widespread appeal while the SMG4 channel has more of a cult following.
So, how is GLITCH Productions the future of animation? Simple, they’re just better than their competitors. Better at marketing, better at treating their employees well, better at not being lazy, and better at giving individuals THEIR vision for THEIR show! Granted, GLITCH Productions is still a small company. But with the entire internet on their side and eagerly waiting for their next releases, GLITCH Productions’s future is looking bright!
