Are there evening performances for general music classes? The answer to this question pre-pandemic would have been a resounding YES. Evening performances for parents have always been a highlight and a joy of my teaching practice. At this point, however, our enrollment has surpassed what I can handle. 10+ sections per grade level requires 3 separate performances with 4 classes at a time. Those numbers are over capacity for our parking lot and gym. I am doing my best to slowly bring back some performances during the school day amidst the very tightly packed teacher schedules.
Having said all of that...I want to assure you that we ARE performing in class ALL of the time. Although the destination has changed (no formal evening gatherings), the journey itself remains FULL of opportunities for solos, creative compositions, group singing, and instrumental pieces from around the world. We perform for each other in class, then reflect on the celebrations and the challenges of our accomplishments.
In other words, our music skills are still growing every single week 😍
DO YOU HAVE PROFICIENT PIANO SKILLS?
If yes, let me know! Sometimes we need an accompanist for chorus rehearsals and/or concerts
