Stay Connected through: The Garden Collective

MRPS PIE and MSMS_SUSTAIN invite you to join the Garden Collective. We are currently focusing on three priorities:

1)  The Share-A-Plot program where you can dedicate part of your garden to MSMS_SUSTAIN. Locally produced food is prepared as ready-to-eat meals for our local food pantries and the MRPS Supplemental Nutrition Program.

2). We need summer volunteers to water the vegetable gardens at MSMS.

3)  We are in the planning stages of creating a student garden at UES. We’re working on a plan and hope to kick things off next school year! Reach out to Katie Swick or Rachel Pompeli to learn more.

A Message from Don Taylor:  Thank you MRPS PIE for your continued support of the MSMS_Sustain program. The support you have given to help establish an online store, assist students running a small business and promote the program have been invaluable. This summer, we hope that MRPS PIE can help  jump start the GARDEN COLLECTIVE. MSMS_Sustain is a learning program predicated on the belief that students of the 21st century must know and understand issues related to climate change, sustainability and social justice. Through project and community based learning,  Main Street Middle School students engage with community issues, including valuable lessons about food preparation and the impact of a strong local food system.
