The Fall 2025 Interest Form is now available. Go to the APPLICATION PROCESS page for the link.
Are credits from a program I already started transferable?
We are unable to determine if credits are transferable between post-secondary institutions. Because of the specificity of our program, most credits from other institutions will not transfer. Please contact UNO to confirm if credits are transferable.
Will I be able to complete the program in two years?
Participants may complete the graduate program in two years if you take two classes beginning in the summer semester and two classes each semester after. While completing the program in two years is possible, it is not mandatory. Please note that if you start in a semester other than summer (e.g., Fall or Spring), we cannot guarantee a two-year completion due to variations in course availability and class sizes. It is important for participants to manage their own course selection and sequence to ensure they meet their educational goals. This template can help you plan your completion timeline.
Is this program specifically for elementary teachers?
The Millard Graduate Program currently includes 18 hours of coursework designed for elementary teachers in literacy and mathematics. However, the program
is not exclusive to elementary teachers—any PK-12 certificated staff member can enroll. UNO has confirmed that the K-12 courses offered through the Millard
Graduate Program can count toward a Secondary Curriculum & Instruction degree, but content-specific courses would need to be taken directly through UNO.
If I teach Grade 6, should I do the elementary program or wait for the secondary program?
This is your decision, many MS teachers have an elementary endorsement and may find the current program beneficial. However, keep in mind that the program
currently requires 18 hours of elementary literacy and math coursework. If you are seeking a secondary-specific program, UNO offers a Secondary Curriculum &
Instruction degree, which includes the K-12 Millard Graduate Program courses but requires additional content-specific courses taken through UNO.
When does the secondary program begin?
After exploring the feasibility of a secondary full-degree graduate program, Millard has determined that it will not offer a full Secondary master’s program due
to the number of content-specific courses required to meet individual needs. However, the PK-12 courses (such as Technology, Assessment, Behavior, and EL)
can count toward a Secondary Curriculum & Instruction degree through UNO, with additional content-area courses needing to be taken directly through UNO.
Secondary teachers do have several options to assist with graduate coursework expenses, including Title IIA and MEA scholarships. While these funds do not
apply to C&I degrees, they can be used for degrees, endorsements, or certifications in designated high-need areas. Additional details can be found on this document.
Where are the times of the class(es) for the courses?
Please click on the “Click here for more information” link within the Course Descriptions for dates and times of each course.
I am interested in obtaining more graduate credits to increase my salary. Do you know what my options are as far as courses go?
Teachers interested in salary advancement can take graduate classes and fill out the HR salary advancement form to ensure your classes are approved. Listed
below are a couple of links that may give you additional information. These can be found on the Human Resources (Documents) website and the Leadership &
Learning website for Graduate Programs and Scholarships.

Are classes in person or online?
Courses are in person. Please click on the “Click here for more information” link within the Course Descriptions for dates and times of each course.
Which classes am I able to take from the list provided?
Any of the courses can be taken individually. To apply, fill out the interest form on the Application Process page for any of the courses listed for that semester.
The Millard Graduate Program is a first come first serve process as we have limited seats. The complete process on being accepted into a course and then how
to enroll with UNO are on that page as well. You may take a maximum of 2 courses per semester. A new interest form is posted each semester.
I had a question on the tuition amount. Is that something that I have to pay for upfront or am I able to make payments, loans, etc.?
Payment for courses would be determined directly with UNO
When will the $400 stipend be sent to me?
MPS will pay $400 per course (up to 2) each semester. This reimbursement will show on your master UNO student account statement prior to your statement due date.
What should I do if I have a conflict between my course and an MPS-organized meeting (such as Induction or other district-required meetings)?
MPS-organized meetings, including Induction sessions and other district-required meetings, should take priority. Course instructors consult the district calendar when scheduling classes, but due to the number of events, not every conflict can be avoided. If a conflict arises, you should attend your MPS requirement first and communicate with your course instructor as soon as possible.
If your conflict is not related to an MPS-organized meeting, please work directly with your course instructor to determine the best solution.
Should we have our transcripts sent to Millard Public Schools or get it sent to UNO?
Anything registration related would be sent to UNO. I would recommend you wait until after the zoom informational meeting so you know the exact steps
directly from UNO.
Does my spot in the class this summer guarantee my spot in future classes [offered for secondary education teachers], or will I fill out an interest form each time for the next semester?
Each semester we open up a new interest form and spots are reserved based on that form. Participants are notified on the date posted on the website if they
have received a spot and for which course(s).
How will I know if a spot opens in a course I am waitlisted?
You will be notified by email if a spot becomes available.
