Application Process
Two possible options exist to participate in the Millard Graduate Program:
Millard certificated staff members may enroll in the full 36-hour Master's of Curriculum & Instruction - Elementary Education degree program.
Millard certificated staff members may take select courses as additional graduate hours.
In order to be eligible for the graduate program or courses, you must follow the steps outlined below.
Participants must complete the Interest Form first. Fall 2024 Interest Form - CLICK HERE
NOTE: Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 sessions are currently waitlist only. Questions can be directed to Shelly Mann at samann@mpsomaha.org
Preference in courses will be given to those staff members who wish to complete the full Master’s Degree program.
Seats are limited to 27 in the graduate courses, this interest form will serve as our tracking document to determine course capacity.
Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. If a course reaches capacity, we will maintain a waitlist.
To secure a seat or a spot on the waitlist, you must complete the Interest Form linked above.
Completion of the Interest Form does not guarantee you a seat in a course and is not the final registration (you will still need to register through UNO once you are accepted into The Millard Graduate Program).
Once you complete the Master’s Degree program course(s) you will receive the $400 per course reimbursement for up to two courses per semester, for up to four years from the start of your first class. Allow 4-6 weeks upon course completion for it to arrive.
A participant may only take a maximum of two courses per semester.
To participate in The Millard Graduate Program, you do not need to seek approval from HR.
Please complete the steps below once you receive notification you have a seat in one, or two, of the graudate courses.
If you receive a seat in one, or two, of the graduate courses, you will receive an email notification with additional steps to complete your registration with UNO. You must complete your official registration with UNO to be eligible to take a course.
In this email communication will be a date and time for an informational zoom with the UNO Graduate Program experts to help answer any questions you may have. If you missed the Zoom information meeting on April 18th - here are the links
You will receive communication on your status on Friday, April 5.
Complete registration with UNO.
During this step you will declare if you are participating in the full 36-hour Master's Degree program or taking courses for additional graduate hours.
When you register, you will receive a permit from UNO to register for the Millard specific graduate courses.
Upon completion of the course(s) your $400 reimbursement will be processed. Allow 4-6 weeks after course ends to receive the payment.
Complete the Enhancing Excellence in Teaching Program (EETP) forgivable loan application
The EETP forgivable loan is an opportunity for Nebraska residents to receive a forgivable loan in the amount of $175 per course hour. We will work in partnership with UNO to help you apply for this loan should this be an option you would like to use.
Courses used for salary advancement must be reflected as graduate hours on the official transcript. The maximum number of credit hours a full-time employee may attempt for salary advancement shall not exceed eight (8) during the periods of August 1 through December 31 and January 1 through May 31, for a total not to exceed eighteen (18).
