Eligibility: This program is open to any certificated staff member interested in earning additional graduate credit. Millard staff may participate in one of two ways:
Enroll in the full 36-credit Master's of Curriculum & Instruction - Elementary Education Program
Take select courses for additional graduate credit hours
Participants who begin in the summer and take two courses each semester may complete the program in approximately two years; however, completion within two years is not required. Please note that starting in the Fall or Spring semester may extend the timeline due to course availability and class size limits. Participants are responsible for selecting and sequencing courses to meet their individual goals.
Location: Courses will be taught within Millard Public Schools, leveraging MPS facilities to create an immersive learning environment.
Instruction: The program will be taught by Millard educators who have demonstrated excellence in their respective fields, have a strong commitment to student success, and who possess a deep understanding of the local educational landscape. Instructors will share their insights into effective teaching methods, student engagement strategies, and classroom management techniques that have proven successful within the Millard environment. These instructors bring real-world insights and practical knowledge to the classroom, ensuring that program participants receive relevant and applicable guidance.
Curriculum: The curricular scope and sequence of this program will be carefully crafted to support the professional learning goals of Millard Public Schools. Courses will draw from a range of disciplines and are designed to address the specific needs and challenges faced by educators working within the Millard school system.
Experiential Learning: The program will incorporate practical experiences, observations, and engagement in Millard classrooms to provide firsthand exposure to learning environments within the context of Millard Public Schools.
Benefits: Graduates and participants of the Millard Graduate Program will emerge with a comprehensive understanding of the pedagogy and best-practices within Millard Public Schools. They will be better equipped to excel as educators, creating meaningful and impactful learning experiences for their students. Cost: Through this partnership, Millard staff members will be able to take graduate courses and/or earn a Master's Degree at a significant discount.
