Welcome Wildcats

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! This year's school and district theme is "#WheelerStrong". Each grade level will be focusing on overcoming any obstacles or challenges that come our way within our school community and beyond!

Important Information

- Family/Teacher Conferences -

Conferences will be held on 2/10, 2/15, & 2/16.

- E-Learning Days -

E-Learning Days will be held on 1/28, 1/31, & 2/11.

- Student Watches -

If your child wears a watch that has the capabilities to send messages, please remind them that the time to do so is before or after school. When the watches are at school, they are either worn without messing with them throughout the school day or they are in your child's backpack until the end of the day.

- Hot Lunch -

Hot lunch will be free for all students. The end date for this new procedure is still to be determined.

- 2nd Grade Homework -

Just a reminder to all that 2nd grade homework is practicing math facts and reading each night. Please do each of these with your child each night so that they can continue to grow and improve upon their reading and math skills.

We will not be having spelling tests this year in second grade. Rather than spelling tests, we are completing phonetic skill activities in our small groups each week to improve upon & enhance the fluency of our readers.

- Special Treats -

According to the District Student Handbook and our school precautions due to Covid-19, all food brought into the District for classroom use (i.e. birthdays, Wildcat of the Week, general treats, etc.) must be store bought, unopened, individually packaged, and include an ingredient label on the package. Please avoid all peanut and tree nut products. (This includes peanut butter.

We also ask that you send treats that are consistent for all students. For example, if you choose to send Rice Krispies, please make sure you send Rice Krispies that are all the same kind. (Another example: if sending mini bags of chips, please send all chips with the same flavor.) Your cooperation with this request makes passing out treats a quick process.

***Please also make sure to send all necessary items required to serve this treat such as plates, napkins, etc. as we do not have these supplies at school.

Birthday Invites

Birthday invites are only allowed to be passed out at school if the entire class (both boys and girls) are invited. If you are needing the contact information of another student's family, please use the student directory to access their information. Educators are unable to share any contact information.
