My name is Michael Gunter and I am an English / Language Arts teacher. This is my 27th year at Millard North Middle School, and I couldn't be luckier. The MNMS community is amazing!

I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for my undergraduate degree in Education / English 7-12 and also hold a masters degree in education.

My wife is a fourth-grade teacher at Upchurch Elementary, also in Millard. We have two children, Brendan and Kaitlyn. Brendan is 22 years old and just graduated college. My daughter is 19 and is attending nursing school at Clarkson College.

I love teaching and believe that many life lessons can be taught through reading, writing, and speaking. #ELA 7 #CarpeDiem

This is my 3rd year teaching here at NMS, and I LOVE it! Previously, I taught 2nd grade for 5 years in the district. I am from Lincoln, Nebraska but moved to Omaha to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I studied education and was on the swim team there. I graduated and received my master's at UNO. My husband and I welcomed a son in April named Albie and have enjoyed becoming first time parents. My favorite activities include fishing, running, reading, and watching movies.

I am looking forward to this school year no matter what it may bring!

This is my 3rd year teaching at North Middle School and I am looking forward to another great year! I grew up and attended Millard Public Schools. I went to Holling Heights, Central Middle School and graduated from Millard South High School. I graduated from UNO with a degree in Secondary Education, with a focus in Social Sciences and a minor in History. I will be starting my Masters program at Doane in the Spring. In my free time I like to stay active, read and spend time with friends and family. I look forward to getting to know each and everyone of you this year!

I am a product of Millard Public Schools, having attended Morton Elementary, Millard North Junior High and Millard North High School. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Hastings College and my Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities and Resource Teaching from UNO. I am a Nationally Board Certified teacher in the area of Exceptional Needs. This is my 22^nd year as a special education teacher at MNMS. Aside from being an Inclusion teacher, I co-direct the spring play and co-lead Drama Club, 6^th gr Book Club and Volunteer Club. I am married with 3 amazing children – a 7 yr old daughter and 5 yr old boy/girl twins. I am active in my church, Girl Scouts and community theater. I enjoy reading, playing board games, seeing live music, and spending time with friends and family. Thank you for sharing your children with me. I am excited to be working with this group of 6^th graders and encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns. Students – my hope for you is that you realize your value and know how much I care for you and how invested I am in you and understand that I will never give up on you!

I am excited to work with 7th grade students once again! This is my third year at Millard North Middle School as an Assistant Principal. Before that, I was a Science teacher in the Millard Public Schools district. I look forward to helping Team Brisbane and supporting students to be their best! Roll 'Stangs!
