IB English HLII (12th grade)

Dear Future IB English HL II Students:

Welcome to IB English HL II! This course will build upon your skills as analytical readers, thinkers, and writers. In order to "hit the ground running," you must read selected essays by Maya Angelou and complete three journal responses. You will find links to pdf versions of the essays on the right side of the website. Please also find the journal assignments and follow the instructions carefully. Your journals will be due on Tuesday, August 13. During the first week of school, expect to be assessed in a variety of ways on your reading, including quizzes, graded discussions, written essays, and presentations.

On the website, you will find resources for reading and annotating non-fiction. Please print the essays and annotate them. Be prepared to show your teacher your annotations.
