Talking Points for Parents

This assessment is important to you and your child because…

  • It will show what your child is ready to learn.

  • It will show, not only where the child is currently, but also the growth experienced.

  • It will show MPS staff what your child is ready to learn. We will use this to plan our lessons.

  • It will inform us what we can focus on with your child to fill in any learning gaps.

  • It will inform us for HAL screening.

  • It will inform us for course placement.

The MAP Growth tests are aligned to Nebraska academic standards.

Mass communication template to be sent by the building in sync with the DARE upload. DARE will communicate with schools when upload will occur each testing season.

Your student’s MAP Growth Individual Student Report can be found in our Synergy apps called ParentVUE and StudentVUE. Look in the Documents tab in ParentVUE / StudentVUE for a PDF report. Click here to login or download the app. If you need assistance logging into ParentVUE, please call our PAL (Parent Assistance Line) at 402-715-8000.


If electing to administer Science and/or Language Usage -- communication from building to appropriate families should be sent prior to testing. Samples are below:

As you are aware we have been administering the MAP Growth test in reading and mathematics. We feel the information gained from these two assessments is extremely helpful for teachers as they plan their daily lessons. This year we will be also giving the [science / language usage] test(s) in [grade level(s) / classroom(s)].
