Welcome to 6th grade STS! In this Hexter class, we will explore many different areas of technology and science. These lessons will be taught in the form of three-day “modules”. Each of these modules is specifically designed to teach things like plastic forming and finishing, Rocketry basics, woodworking, Computer Numerical Coding processes, and electronics. During the course of this class, the students will work with a variety of equipment, some with the potential for injury. These would include, but are not limited to: Drill presses, Band saw, Hand saw, and several heating-related procedures. While all of these processes are safe and supervised, alerting Parent(s)/Guardian(s) is important. It is also important that the student understands the potential for injury and they pledge to follow all safety rules and to use the equipment correctly.
